On August 25, 2012 the Renegade Playground Challenge obstacle course mud run will take place at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia. Not your ordinary 5k race, the Renegade Playground Challenge allows runners to challenge themselves on wild obstacles along the course, including tunnels, monkey bars, mud holes, and more.
Manchester, NH (PRWEB) February 17, 2012
Taking place August 25, 2012, the Renegade Playground Challenge will be held at the beautiful Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Participants will be running on and around many of the ski slopes and trails at the resort, while also navigating a dozen or more obstacles with names such as Everest, Wall Banger, Tunnel of Doom, Nutcracker, Jack and Jill, Speed Bumps, Shark Bait, and more.
Those who survive earn the title of true Renegades and get a t-shirt and free beer for their efforts.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing the Renegade Playground Challenge to West Virginia,” said Mark Glickman, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. “Snowshoe Mountain is about so much more than just skiing, and this event will allow participants and spectators alike to not only be able to experience all of the fun the Renegade Playground Challenge brings, including the course, music, food, and prizes, but they can also take advantage of the shops, restaurants, lodging and other amenities that Snowshoe Mountain Resort has to offer.”
“We’re very happy about bringing the Renegade Playground Challenge to West Virginia for the first time,” said Dave Soucy, one of the Co-Founders of the Renegade Playground Challenge. “Snowshoe Mountain Resort is awesome, and the Renegade Playground Challenge will give people a way to compete while having more fun than they’ve probably had since they were a kid. Monkey bars, mud holes, running across streams, climbing walls - all the stuff your Mom used to yell at you about. We like to call it Recess. Unsupervised.TM”
The Renegade Playground Challenge is a proud supporter of The Snowshoe Foundation, which is dedicated to the financial support of local community organizations whose activities provide benefit to the people of Pocahontas, Randolph and Webster Counties of West Virginia. A portion of the proceeds from the August 25th event will go to the charity. For a full calendar of Renegade Playground Challenge events, please visit http://www.RenegadePlayground.com.
