She did the right thing. Imagine that from a politician.

It's a shame that she has to leave office under these circumstances. At least she has the common sense to know that her recovery is much more important and that she couldn't give the job her all...This conservative wishes her well.

Admirable that she considers what is best for her country and not just her political party.
If only there were more in Congress who put country before party.

I admire the courage this lady has shown! She is doing what is important to her and her family.. Does not matter what side of the isle your on, we all need to come together and wish her the best for the future..

People who hate really hate themselves the most. Doesn't make any difference what Party she is from, she didn't deserve this, white,black, or any other race.

I wish her the best, but as a retired nurse I know that "her new normal" would never allow her to carry on congressional duties. She is far better off retiring with her hubby and focusing on getting as well as she can. She is never going to be 100%, but she doesn't need the stress of government either. Bless her..she has been through a lot.

First off I am a conservative, but think Rep Giffords is a class act and may sje coninue to heal and get better daily. There is no room for crappy politics in something like this. God Bless you Rep. Giffords. You are a true patriot in this conservative woman's eyes. Thumbs up to your hubby also for being the type of man to stand by his wife in times like this.
