New report claims the iPhone 6 may release much later than we expected
Apple is widely expected to launch two iPhone 6 models beginning this fall. The company was expected to start selling at least one of them in stores that month, but a new report from MacRumors says that the iPhone 6 may arrive a month later, on October 14th.

According to a single unnamed source familiar with the matter, who supposedly attended an Apple retail store meeting, October 14th was referred to by a senior Store Leader as an “immense” day for Apple, with the whole month being “incredibly busy” for the company and its stores. Thus, Apple may be planning an October 14th launch for the iPhone 6, following a mid-September announcement event for the new iPhones and iOS 8.
Apple is also expected to unveil other products in October, including the iWatch, OS X Yosemite and new Macs, and new iPads.
Some rumors pointed out in the past that Apple’s 5.5-inch iPhone 6 may be intentionally delayed so it won’t have to compete with the 4.7-inch version.
For what it’s worth, October 14th falls on a Tuesday and Apple traditionally launches new iPhone models on Fridays. There has also never been such a huge gap between an iPhone announcement and a launch.
