    Report: Jared Lee Loughner to Plead Guilty in Tucson Shooting

    Jared Lee Loughner, the alleged gunman in the January 8, 2011 shooting in Tucson, Arizona, is expected to plead guilty Tuesday to the attack that killed six people and injured 13, including former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times. The plea could result in a life sentence for Loughner, according to the AP. In 2011, Loughner pled not guilty to 49 charges surrounding the attacks.

    The plea is expected to come on a day when the court-appointed pyschatric examiner will testify that Loughner is now competent enough to understand the charges filed against him. 

    Loughner was ruled incompetent for trial in late May 2011.
