Reports: Clippers sign Jamison

Antawn Jamison is changing teams without changing towns.

After one season with the Los Angeles Lakers, the veteran forward agreed Monday to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, multiple media outlets reported. Jamison reportedly will receive the veteran's minimum salary, approximately $1.4 million.

"Ready to come and help out as much as possible, and hopefully I'm the piece that can take us to the top." Jamison told the Los Angeles Times.

Jamison, 37, averaged 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds for the Lakers last season, starting six of his 76 games.

For his 15-year career, Jamison has averages of 18.8 points and 7.6 rebounds. During his stint with the Washington Wizards, he was an All-Star in 2005 and 2008.

The fourth overall pick in the 1998 NBA draft out of North Carolina, Jamison played five seasons for the Golden State Warriors and one for the Dallas Mavericks before his 5 1/2-year run in Washington. He played 2 1/2 years for the Cleveland Cavaliers prior to signing with the Lakers as a free agent last year.

Jamison underwent right wrist surgery in the spring, but ESPNLosAngeles.com reported that he should be at full strength for the season opener.
