This cat is living proof that home is where the heart is.

Eleven weeks ago — after a short stay in a shelter — a little kitten, now known as Rey, was taken to a new home and has been all smiles ever since.

Mashable spoke with Jenni Colborn, the happy kitten’s owner, via email to hear more about how she and Rey met.

“Rey was kind of a happy accident,” Colborn said.

Though she and her husband already have two cats name Coen and Ava, Colborn happened upon Rey one day while stopping at a local animal shelter to snuggle some kitties.

“I couldn't resist that face, and alas, we ended up with a third kitten,” she added.

Rey hadn’t been in the shelter very long, and was only about 60 days old when Colborn found her.

“She'd been fostered beforehand and was given the name 'Terminator' - as you can see, she's not a Terminator!” Colborn said.

She and her husband renamed their new addition to the family after the Star Wars heroine.

“We've had her for almost 3 months now and she's has SO much kitten personality,” Colborn said. “She loves to play with her mouse and torments the other cats to no end. She's always causing trouble and chaos, but it's a bit too hard to punish her with that face!”
