On February 25th, Capcom’s episodically driven Resident Evil Revelations 2 debuts on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

For PC gamers, there are two options available for the Steam platform, the Complete Edition, and the “Complete Season“, which includes all 6 episodes. If you already know the details and just want to know the best price for the game, here are the deals:

The latest Resident Evil game takes place between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. It’s an episodic game, releasing in the same style as Telltale’s Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us series. The game comes in 4 episodes, but unlike the Telltale games previously mentioned, you won’t have to wait months at a time between episode releases — the release dates are only weeks apart. All episodes – along with two bonus episodes – are included in both of the editions listed above.

  • Episode 1 – February 25th

  • Episode 3 – March 10th

  • Episode 4 – March 17th

You can purchase the episodes piecemeal for $5.99 each, but you’ll save more overall by purchasing the Complete Season at $24.99 (or $20 after discount). Additionally, the bundled editions above give you the two additional bonus episodes (plus their respective bonus DLCs).

Complete Edition vs. Complete Season

Capcom went full-out confusion mode by launching both a “Complete Edition” and a “Complete Season” version of the game, available on Steam Store and various digital retailers. Both editions come with all episodes of the game and two bonus episodes.

The difference comes in the run-and-gun single player/co-op side-game “Raid Mode“. Both include some DLC for the raid mode, but the Complete Edition gets you several bonus DLCs you might want if you’re a hardcore fan of the Resident Evil series looking for more content.

The Raid Mode Throwback Map Pack might require a little explanation. While you will unlock something like 200 different Raid Mode stages playing just the standard Resident Evil Revelations 2 game, the Raid Mode Throwback Map Pack will get you additional stages to play, set in various settings from recent Resident Evil games – probably stages you had in Revelations 1.
