Resident Evil Revelations 2 Will Star Claire Redfield and Barry's Daughter

Upcoming survival horror game Resident Evil Revelations 2 will feature returning series regular Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, the daughter of Barry Burton who makes her debut as a playable character.

The information was revealed in the November 2014 issue of Gamemaster magazine and posted by Push-Start-Play. Details about the plot were also revealed in an interview with Resident Evil Revelations 2 producer Michiteru Okabe.

The story will take place between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. Gameplay will also allegedly be "much more survival horror orientated." The game will introduce a new enemy type, Afflicted, which will sport a zombie-like appearance, but "are in fact something quite different." Players will be able to choose whether to take on Afflicted enemy types head-on, stealthily, or avoid them altogether by fleeing.

The campaign will support single player and co-op play, with Claire focusing on combat and Moira providing support via her flashlight, healing, and "general support." Only Claire's death will trigger a Game Over screen.

The PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will allegedly run at 1080p and 60fps. Check out the available screens below. Credit: Push-Start-Play.

Claire's looking older and more seasoned in this iteration, and this is the first we've seen of a grown-up Moira. Could her necklace have any significance?

That looks familiar! Here, Claire is wearing the same green wrist device that was highlighted in the live-action trailer.

Moira has been confirmed for a supporting role. Looks like the torch has use that extends beyond lighting environments.

It would appear that the gross matter from Resident Evil: Revelations will also return.

Could the new Afflicted type of enemy be underneath that sheet?

Watch where you point that torch, Moira! You nearly blinded me!
