Restored ‘Breakfast Club’ Set for World Premiere at SXSW

South by Southwest will hold the world premiere of the newly remastered version of “The Breakfast Club” on March 17 at the Paramount Theatre in Austin.

Cast members Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy will attend for a Q&A prior to the screening.

Universal announced last month that the restored version of the John Hughes comedy-drama will be shown in 430 U.S. theaters for two nights on March 26 and 31 at 7:30 p.m. local time. Those screenings will include a bonus featurette featuring interviews with cast members Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall and John Kapelos as well as filmmakers Diablo Cody, Amy Heckerling and Michael Lehman. “Breakfast Club” director Hughes died in 2009.

“The Breakfast Club 30th Anniversary Edition” will also be available on Blu-ray and DVD on March 10.
