Rhode Island gas prices climb by 4 cents

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices in Rhode Island are up another four cents from last week, the fourth consecutive week of price increases.

AAA Southern New England said Monday the average cost of a gallon of regular in the state is $3.85.

Gas prices locally are up 23 cents in the past month.

The local price is higher than the national average of $3.72 a gallon.

The average cost of gas a year ago in Rhode Island was $3.73.
