ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistani military officials say a roadside bomb has killed two soldiers in a northwest tribal area near the Afghan border.
The officials say the blast Wednesday also wounded four soldiers. It occurred in the Vill Zatrai area of South Waziristan.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in line with military regulations.
South Waziristan was the main sanctuary for the Pakistani Taliban before the army launched a large ground offensive in 2009. Militants continue to carry out periodic attacks in the area.
