A robot's first day at work gives us an adorable glimpse into the future
TEDx is known for offering a glimpse into the future of technology, and the TEDx Sydney event was no exception.
A robot usher, complete with Intel insides, was introduced to the public at the Sydney Opera House Wednesday in a short video. It showed how robots and humans could potentially work together, tapping into the day's theme of "together."

The adorable video by Intel and the Opera House imagined the robot's first day at work. It showed the 58-centimetres tall bot (23 inches) dealing with human staff, checking out other robots in the building and coping with the difficulties of having an expressionless face.
"My colleagues were very unsure about me at first, I think they thought I would take all of their jobs. Ha ha ha," he said. "But they soon welcomed me in."
The real test was whether the robot would be accepted into the group. Despite some first day challenges, such as no one knowing whether he was joking or not, the robot usher got down to business.

"The best part of working here is not the place or the people, but the artificial feeling of being accepted and the free juice," the robot said.
TEDx Sydney is a one day event based on the highly-influential TED Talks in the U.S. It sees thought leaders from a variety of industries coming together to present ideas ranging from the future of VR to the power of the dictionary.
The future is surely here, or close by, but having a robot show you to your seat makes it feel a little too real.
