‘The Rock’ Obama On ‘SNL’ Shows Dwayne Johnson As POTUS With The Most
Last night’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-hosted Saturday Night Live wasn’t what you’d call intellectually brilliant. It was merely flat-out funny, as the Furious franchise frontman made it all look easy during his fourth tour in the SNL spotlight.
Johnson is so comfortable in his own skin that he easily morphed from cue-card stoned star to the gamest member of the ensemble, which gave the evening an engaging collegial vibe – even when sketches went limp.
He was there right from the cold open, which is unusual for a host, playing a steroid-fueled alternative to Jay Pharaoh’s weak-tea Barack Obama, disposing of the various political thorns in his side. Leslie Jones plays his comparably musclebound wife, “She Rock” Obama)
