Rockwell Collins names Ortberg company president

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Aerospace and defense electronics company Rockwell Collins Inc. on Monday promoted Kelly Ortberg to company president.

Clay Jones will remain chairman and CEO of Rockwell Collins while relinquishing the president's role. Ortberg had been in charge of Rockwell Collins' government systems business since February 2010. Rockwell Collins said he will now be responsible for managing its operations, including overseeing its commercial and government businesses and support functions.

Rockwell Collins said Philip Jasper will replace Ortberg as executive vice president and chief operating officer of government systems division. That business provides airborne and surface defense solutions to agencies like the U.S. Department of Defense, and to companies that make military platforms.

Shares of Rockwell Collins, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, fell 25 cents to $52.66 Monday.
