Roger Ailes Says He Doesn't Know What Gawker Is

No, Roger Ailes, Gawker is not a pornographic website. It's that site which, you know, broke the story about how your network's biggest star, Bill O'Reilly, "tried to get his wife's boyfriend investigated by the cops," or more recently, ran that failed mole experiment at Fox.

But sure, pretend you dont know what it is. "What is Gawker? Is that that pornographic website?" Ailes told The Hollywood Reporter (video below). "I only knew it as that pornographic website that everybody said to stay away from."

So, if we were to run with Ailes' playing dumb conclusion and made-up world ... isn't it sort of funny some of Roger Ailes's close friends still want to shield his fragile eyes from pornography?  Ailes's playing dumb even got the attention of the Twitterverse:

And it solicited a reply from Gawker's own John Cook, who penned the 400,000+ viewed story on Fox's Bill O'Reilly shady dealings with the police, internal affairs and his wife's boyfriend and not a few pieces on Ailes himself:

But back to the interview, after The Hollywood Reporter's Erin Carlson takes the Ailes bait and explains what Gawker is, she asks the (or what was until the mole's demise last night) real burning question: "What About the Mole?"

"I don't care if they have a mole because we aren't doing anything wrong, so it doesn't matter," Ailes says"[T]hey hate me because I make money and I do it legitimately and they don't like my politics, and that's America."
