Roll out! 'Transformers Prime' game coming fall 2012

Optimus Prime, along with four comrades, is confirmed for 'Transformers Prime.'

A new Transformers game for Wii and 3DS is on its way, based on the Transformers Prime TV series that's in its second season.

Transformers mainstays Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Ratchet will appear, alongside Autobot comrades Arcee and Bulkhead, young human heroes Jack, Miko and Raf, and of course Decepticon leader Megatron.

Previous Transformers games for the Wii and 3DS had a link, however loose, to versions available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 -- sharing a name and cover art at the very least.

Now, while High Moon Studios returns to doing what it do best with Transformers: Fall of Cybertron after developing 2011's film tie-in, it's Japanese company Nowpro that is handling Transformers Prime.

The studio, which is based in Osaka, south central Japan, has most recently made the Bakugan Battle Brawlers and Little League World Series Baseball games and helped out with Beautiful Katamari.

Both Transformers Prime and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron are expected between September and November, by which time they'll be rubbing shoulders with other popular fare such as Lego Batman 2, Lego City Stories, The Amazing Spider-Man and Pokémon Black & White 2.
