COMMENTARY | The support for Ron Paul is picking up steam as three more South Carolina Senators endorsed his bid on Tuesday for the Republican presidential nomination. It seems with each passing day more people are starting to wake up, even those in already serving in government are beginning to open their eyes and realize that Dr. Paul really is what we need to get America back on its feet. Perhaps the mainstream media will finally catch on to the fact that Ron Paul is electable, and give him his fair share of coverage over the real issues facing this country. The list of Republicans backing Ron Paul now includes Sen. Lee Bright (R-Spartanburg), Sen. Kevin Bryant (R-Spartanburg), and Sen. Danny Verdin (R-Greenville).

Sen. Lee Bright was elected to the South Carolina State Legislature in 2008. He is known as a fiscal and social conservative. Sen. Bright serves on the committees for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Judiciary, Labor Commerce and Industry and Transportation. He also serves on the William Wallace Caucus, which is a non-legislative caucus that votes against government intrusion, wasteful spending and unnecessary regulation.

Sen. Kevin Bryant was a delegate at the Republican National Convention in 2000. He was the Chairman of the Anderson County Republican Party from 1997 to 2001. He joined the South Carolina State Senate in 2004 and has served in that position since representing the 3rd district. On his blog Sen. Bryant says, ""Why Dr. Paul?" is the question many people have asked, "He's got some extreme positions." Well, "let me remind you, that extremism in the pursuit of liberty is no vice" (Barry Goldwater-1964) I've also reminded my friends that our future generations have had $117 trillion debt thrust upon them. This extreme problem needs extreme solutions before we self-destruct."

Sen. Danny Verdin is a third-term Republican from South Carolina's 9th District. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee. He also serves as a committee member for Finance, Invitations, Medical Affairs, Transportation and Fish, Game and Forestry.

Even South Carolina Senator Jim Mint, who isn't endorsing any candidate at the moment, had this to say about Ron Paul: "If we don't listen to Ron Paul the unaccountable, out of control Federal Reserve is going to destroy our monetary system. The whole concept of individual liberty and limited government, that needs to be not only the core of the Republican Party but American people need to realize that that's what makes us great, not this central government collectivism that we've moved towards now."

I've been a registered voter since 1974 and have NEVER once voted for a winning Presidential candidate, yet I press on, voting for the best PERSON, that I believe in, NOT party! Since the economy went down the tubes, I've been scrambling to survive and have rapidly been losing faith in the nation as a whole. When Ron Paul announced his candidacy again, I thought "Well, here we go again," and resigned myself to once again cast my vote for a MAN I believe in and have supported since 1988! As I blogged and read various articles and saw the media begin their blackout. As the pundits started the catcalls and laughter, I noticed a difference in the attitude of my fellow Paulites. The fringe-fanatic feel was gone and there were more, quietly resolute, people declaring their allegiance. As I merrily posted away, I saw Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians ALL saying they support Ron Paul. This heartened me and as I read more posts, I realized that support was coming in from all over the political spectrum. Now, I feel a sense of awe as I watch the MSM and their masters desperately trying to stem the tide with blackouts and anti-posters, spammers and pundits laughing about "save that Paul stuff. We don't need it, heh heh." This has made me proud to be a part of what I see as the beginning of a groundswell of freedom as the little people take their country back from the plutocrats who have been exploiting us and the system for so long!

The whole media blacklisting of Ron Paul is a slap in the face to the Democratic process we are purported to have. Every time the media says he is unelectable, it's not because they have some insight into the desires of the voters. It's because they know the control they've had over the electoral process. Note I used past tense. People are coming to realize how unreliable the mainstream media is in being our eyes to the world.

        Unreliable? More like seditious liars.

        Good post though.

      ○ what Ron Paul haters hate most about Ron Paul is this:

There is such a thing as doing what is 'politically right,' and there is such a thing as doing what is just plain RIGHT, period. and this is the essence of why we love Ron Paul so. He does right, not for political expediency, but because it is RIGHT, morally right, ethically right. there is no compromise in Dr. Paul with evil or wrong, none at all. with the support he has across the country now in the tens of millions, RP could easily win the MSM to his side and waltz to the WH if only he would promise to attack Iran when elected, if only he would promise to continue foreign aid to Israel and others when elected, if only he would promise to continue the same-old, same-old politics-as-usual when elected. but, of course, Dr. Paul will not do anything of the kind, and that's the appeal of the man for us and why the forces of darkness hate him so. when he gets to the white house we know, and they know, that he will do exactly what he says he will do. his promise of 'change' is REAL, and not just some lame lying device used by others to get ensconced in the oval office, then promptly forget. Ron Paul haters hate Ron Paul because he is honest and cannot be bought. And that's why we love him!

ROLL, RON, ROLL! The American Spring has arrived!

Great article. I never thought to see the day when you would read something commendable in the media about Dr. Paul. It gives us hope that things are changing. Especially the fact that so many of the next generation are supporting a return to freedom and constitutional principles.

Ron Paul is not outside of the republican party...he's simply one of its very few remaining members...the rest have joined the washington party...and what an extravagant ball it is too...all on the taxpayers dime!

Funny watching the Republicans letting the news media pick there Nominee for them,I'm a 55 year old democrat who is supporting RON PAUL so it doesn't make much difference to me,If the Republicans let the news media pick Romney than us democrats will either end up with RON PAUL or Obama. Neither Romney or Newt can beat Obama in 2012 But Paul sure could.

Ron Paul Receives Pivotal Endorsement of South Carolina State Senator Tom Davis
Palmetto State Tea Party favorite and GOP heavyweight goes all in for Ron Paul

COLUMBIA, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul received today the key endorsement of tea party favorite and South Carolina political heavyweight, state Sen. Tom Davis (R-Beaufort).
The consequential endorsement took place at a press conference at 6:00 p.m. EST at the Palisades Conference Center, located in Myrtle Beach.

One of Paul’s rivals for the Republican nomination, Rick Santorum, recently spoke on the weight a Davis endorsement carries. Ruminating on the prospect Davis might endorse him the former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania told The Hilton Head Island Packet newspaper that, “To get an endorsement from someone like Tom Davis is a big deal. It would speak volumes to folks and make them take notice and give us a look.”
Sen. Davis is the most influential fiscal conservative in the South Carolina General Assembly and his endorsement virtually assures that fiscal conservatives in the “First in the South” primary state will take notice. His endorsement also is viewed as a political game-changer by many in South Carolina Republican Party circles.
Those outside South Carolina also have stated the importance of the Davis endorsement.

“We’re excited and grateful to have Sen. Davis’s endorsement, as it carries tremendous weight in South Carolina,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. “Sen. Davis knows a true fiscal conservative when he sees one. He’s uniquely qualified to distinguish between establishment candidate Mitt Romney and the conservative alternative to Romney, Ron Paul.”

The truth that Bain Capitol owns Clear Channel Communications (home of Rush Limbaugh). The truth that Ron Paul predicted every thing that has happened to America in the last several years back in 2002. The truth that Ron Paul is the only Candidate running that voted NO for the Patriot Act & NDAA. the420message has done the research for you (Google it!)
