Ronda Rousey Reveals Her Plan for Winning the Role of 'Captain Marvel'

Ronda Rousey is one of the most celebrated fighters in the world and she isn't pulling any punches when it comes to her career in Hollywood.

The 28-year-old MMA fighter and UFC Women's Bantamweight champion has taken on progressively bigger roles from Expendables 3 to Entourage to Furious 7, and it's all moving toward one major goal.

"I'm really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg," said Rousey, who is starring with Wahlberg in Mile 22. "Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really seriously consider me."

If Beyonce has anything to say about it, Rousey would have her pick of the litter in terms of movie roles. The pop diva played Rousey's viral speech on self-worth during a concert last month.

"When I heard that Beyonce even knew that I existed I was like, 'What! She even knows that I'm alive?'" Rousey said with a giggle.

Outside of her raw talent, Rousey has at least one more thing going for her -- persistence. She's been announced as the star of Nick Cassavetes' Round House remake, which she revealed was a long time in the making.

"I was pursuing Road House for like two years," she said. "I really don't think that any other man could be [Patrick Swayze]. I think that it's a wise angle to take to kind of do a little gender flip of the role."

Rousey can next be seen in the ring on Nov. 14 when she defends her belt against Holly Holm.

UFC fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk, who will be facing off on the same night against Valerie Letourneau, told ET that she's a big fan of Rousey.

"I'm very happy that I'm going to fight on the same card with Ronda Rousey," she told ET. "I'm a big fan of Ronda. ... Ladies, we rule the world!"
