A new rooftop pool bar is opening at Miami’s hottest downtown development

The Miami Worldcenter hotel is getting a rooftop pool bar.

The citizenM Miami Worldcenter, which opened earlier this year, will be unveiling Night Swim, a new rooftop concept with Freehold Hospitality, later this month. Freehold Hospitality is also the team behind the Wynwood venue Freehold Miami, which is temporarily closed but will re-open Oct. 31 in time for tourist season.

Designed for hotel guests and curious locals and located on the 11th floor, Night Swim offers a modern poolside vibe for sunset hours and into the night, with daily happy hours and evening DJ sets. The hotel also plans to offer a $25 weekday pool pass promotion for locals.

Robin Chadha, chief brand officer for citizenM, said the concept fits perfectly with the hotel’s agenda.

“When we opened this hotel, we set out to become a cultural hotspot, combining the very best of Miami,” he said. “Night Swim does exactly that.”

The brightly-designed bar features indoor and outdoor seating, and its proximity to the Kaseya Center makes it a strategic spot for pre or post game or concert drinks. In fact, ticket holders to any event at the Kaseya Center will get 25 percent off food and beverages at Night Swim.

Signature cocktails include the Jack Knife (Grey Goose vodka, watermelon and lime) and the Carajillo Espresso Martini (with Cayeya tequila, Licor 43 and Panther Coffee nitro espresso). Craft beer lovers can indulge in the Night Swim Disco Sour, made exclusively for Freehold Hospitality by Tripping Animals Brewery. The bar also offers low alcohol and frozen cocktails.

There’s a food menu, too, mostly shareable, snack-style dishes like black truffle tequenos, dips like hummus and tzatziki and tuna tartare tacos.

Night Swim won’t be the only rooftop concept at Miami Worldcenter. Last week the Juvia Group and Miami Worldcenter announced that the $6 billion, 27-acre development would be the new home for Juvia restaurant and bar, which closed its Miami Beach location in August. The new Juvia is expected to open late in 2024.

With 300,000 square feet of retail space, about 5,000 apartments and condos and 600 hotel rooms, Miami Worldcenter is already home to three concepts from Chef Michael Beltran’s Ariete Hospitality Group: the French restaurant Brasserie Laurel; the casual Chug’s Express; and El Vecino Cigar & Cocktail Bar.

Several other restaurants are scheduled to open in 2024, including Serafina from New York, Sixty Vines from Dallas and a combined Burger Fi and Anthony’s Coal-Fired Pizza & Wings.
