Rudy Giuliani Is Also Not Running for President

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie always grabs headlines when his name is mentioned in connection with the 2012 presidential race. Perhaps that's what Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York and a 2008 Republican candidate, had in mind when he announced he also wouldn't participate in this year's contest. "If it's too late for Chris Christie, it's too late for me," Giuliani said, according to Politico. Giuliani's staff had teased the idea of a 2012 run as recently as late September, but his announcement at a Long Island Association event that he would stay out of it seemed final. He hasn't endorsed anybody yet, but according to Politico's source, he hinted he "might be partial" to Rick Perry, as Perry had backed Giuliani previously. But his money may be heading elsewhere. Politico also notes, "It had become clear that Giuliani was not planning to run again, as some of his former and closest supporters have started moving toward Mitt Romney."
