Russell Brand asked Katy Perry for a divorce over text message
Russell Brand sure knows how to treat a lady. Especially his wife.
According to his ex-wife, pop star Katy Perry, Brand asked her for a divorce over text message — and she has not heard from him since.
Perry told Vogue magazine – via The Associated Press — that the “comedian” sent her a text on New Year’s Eve 2011 saying that he wanted a divorce, and that was that. The two were married for nearly a year-and-a-half.
“I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day,” she says in the mag’s July cover story. “I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that.”
Apparently, Perry’s loser radar is pretty inaccurate because she dated (and, according to tabloids, is back together with) professional womanizer John Mayer.
“All I can say about that relationship is that he’s got a beautiful mind,” she says of the man responsible for “Your Body Is A Wonderland.” “Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds.”
