Ryan Reynolds Is Furious That His Best Friend Tried to Sell Photos of His Baby
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively look like the perfect couple, but, alas, not everything is perfect in Perfect Looking People World. Apparently, Reynolds was betrayed in the tackiest way by the person closest to him, apart from his wife.
In his GQ cover story Reynolds said his childhood best friend—"someone I grew up with"—tried to sell exclusive pictures of Reynolds, Lively, and their newborn daughter, James, to the gossip rags. Ugly indeed.
He went on to say it was "somebody I’ve known, who’s been one of my closest friends, for twenty-five years." He likened the whole thing to "a death. It was one of those devastating things to find out." The picture, which was a pretty basic shot of the family in the delivery room, was reportedly taken around town to different mags "for the money" after years of the anonymous friend "asking for a check."
Reynolds was clearly hurt, adding: "I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught. But it’s a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They’re just, like, my closest family and my closest friends."
So, there you have it: if you're lucky enough to have genetically flawless humans as your friends, just reap the normal benefits like free drinks and shorter waits at restaurants. It's all the rest of us normals can ask for.
