VIENNA (AFP) – Iran's explanation about the nature and purpose of a second previously undeclared nuclear site "requires further clarification", the UN atomic watchdog said on Monday.
In a restricted new report, a copy of which was obtained by AFP, the International Atomic Energy Agency said that the plant, being built near the holy city of Qom, "corresponds to the design information provided by Iran".
Nevertheless, "Iran's explanation about the purpose of the facility and the chronology of its design and construction requires further clarification," the report added.
