BOSTON, Massachusetts (AFP) – Rajon Rondo had 14 points with 11 assists as Boston cruised past Utah 105-86 to match their 8-1 start from their NBA championship season two years ago.

Since their only defeat of the year, to Phoenix on Friday, the Celtics have won two in a row.

Kevin Garnett scored 18 points, Paul Pierce added 13 and Ray Allen chipped in 15 for Boston.

Deron Williams, who was a game-time decision because of a bruised left calf, had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes for Utah.

The Jazz were coming off their first victory at Madison Square Garden in more than five years.

But they couldn't keep the momentum going, never leading the Celtics.

The teams were tied 23-23 in the first quarter, but Boston scored the last five points of the period and led by 10 at halftime.
