WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama has a warning for Republicans who denounce the federal deficit but reject proposals to cut it.

Obama tells CBS, "I'm going to call them on their bluff."

The president promises to have "a bunch of ideas" for deficit reduction, but he didn't specify them in the broadcast interview.

Many analysts say both spending cuts and tax increases are needed to tame the soaring deficit.

Republicans in Congress oppose almost any form of tax increases, as do some Democrats. Lawmakers in both parties call for spending cuts, but they often hedge when cuts are proposed to specific programs.

Obama's interview was taped Friday, and will air on CBS's "Sunday Morning" and "The Early Show" on Monday.

Translation? "If the other party doesn't go along with my 'plan' with no questions asked, I'll 'call them out'."

That's Obama's idea of leadership. When deals are done behind closed doors with only one extreme of the political spectrum and policy is by large objected to by middle America, point the finger at the Republicans. And when he attempts to write the playbook without bothering to review game strategy, he announces that he'll call the other party hypocrites for not going along.

Ladies and gentleman of the United States: it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Barry does not have any good ideas beyond what he learned from being a community activist, playing dirty Chicago politics, and spending most of his tenure in the Senate NOT voting on policies.

vote all Republidiots out of office. Bushwacker started the war and obama has his mess to clean up.

Kick out all Republidiots from office. We need to exterminate the Facist swine Republicans in office.

They are the worthless party. They do nothing to help the middle class. They can go over to Iraq and
do their flag waving. That war needs to end..
Wake up people Bushwacker was a liar and a drunk. He started a war that the English, French and the Russians could not win. That war will continue for another 100 years.
Look at the track record of the Repulicidiots. They do nothing except help big business. They get
payoffs from the lobbyists. Don't vote for Nazi Facist Republican Swines---be smart.

A person with no education and is not wealthy will make a great president, for they know what the middle class and poor ppl. needs and they are the ones that will more likely abide by the law.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT THESE SENATORS AND CONGRESS ARE WEALTHY AND ONCE THEY GET ELECTED INTO OFFICE THEY ARE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEY WILL HELP OUT THE RICH AND FORGET ABOUT THE MIDDLE CLASS AND THE POOR.

The video documentary, “A Question of Eligibility” made a big splash last year, eventually becoming 2009's most popular political video.

Added to that, the New York Times, best selling book, “Manchurian President,” by authors Aaron Klein and Brenda Elliot. In fact, it is the first bestselling book in America to include a full chapter on the eligibility question.

Then there was the "Obama Birth Hospital Charity Drive” which initially offered $10,000 to any hospital anywhere that could make the claim that it was the institution listed on Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate." That figure was later adjusted to $15,000 – and still no hospital ever claimed the offering.

Then came the “Fund for Truth About Obama Birth,” another $10,000 reward for anyone - doctor, nurse, midwife, relative, friend of the family, acquaintance - who had knowledge of the Obama nativity. Again, still no takers.

Every poll shows it. A clear majority of Americans don't believe Obama's birth story, want him to produce his birth certificate, understand he's hiding something, including information about his education, college and university days, his health records, his travel records, his Social Security number, etc. Except for the die hard losers that now have changed it to, “It doesn’t really matter anyway.”

Any Obama supporter could be up to $25,000 richer, if they can produce any documentation or persons, listed above to verify his claim of being a Natural Born Citizen.

Being an Independent, I make no distinction as to blame. Why, because they are both to blame.

I really look at the numbers, & they are not good. Not good at all. In fact, things are so bad, these guys are not telling the public the truth, & really don't know what to do.

Their different ideologies prevent them from coming together with a plan, yet they know time is running out. I'm sure their bean counters can't count bean even better then me.

Look, we have to come together for the good of the Nation. The facts they are keeping from you, is what needs to be done, will mean a loss to the standard of living to average Americans, of 15 to 20%. Even taxing the rich, will result in the loss.

One, we are competing on a global market, just the trade deficit is holding growth back 2 1/2%. There are 2 ways to achieve this. Print money, causing inflation, relieves pressure on government outlays, actually brings in more dollars to state & local communities, but results in higher prices to the consumer. So your $1.06 tooth brush, now cost you $1.28. A state with a 6% sales tax, now makes 8 cents tax instead of 6 cents. So effectively increases state revenues. Americans lose 20% to standard of living, but should help exports, lower imports, & increase jobs.

The other way, is to increse slightly taxes, to not stiffle growth, cut or freeze spending, until revenue surpass expenditures. Cutting 1%, for 5 years, should get us to balance budgets. Then pegging expenditures to 1% below growth builds surplusses, to pay down debt. A 1% cut over 5 years, would mean 5%, plus say 2% X 5 years of inflation, would result in a 15% loss in American's standard of living. To freeze spending, would take perhaps 10-12 years to get to balance, so 2% inflation for 10 years, Americans would lose 20% to standard of living.

I'm open to an reasonable sugestion, these are 3 of my ideals.
