The magazine says you're as likely to see celebrities in the audience as you are to hear great music from the stage at any of the following venues:
-Safari Sam's, 5214 W. Sunset Blvd., with an anything-goes showcase for punk, rock and even cabaret.
-Spaceland, 1717 Silver Lake Blvd., described as a "hipster haven" for "the latest darlings of indie rock's Pitchfork Web site."
-The Echo, 1822 Sunset Blvd., an Eastside institution for "post-punk" and "mutant disco."
-The Smell, 247 S. Main St., a funky no-frills warehouse for the latest underground sensations. You've been warned: There is no bar.
-Largo, 432 N. Fairfax Ave., where performers have included Emmylou Harris and Fiona Apple. Shhh! No talking allowed during shows.
-Troubadour, 9081 Santa Monica Blvd., where tickets are scarce and bands run the likes of Coldplay and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
-The Hotel Cafe, 1623 1/2 N. Cahuenga Blvd., offers mood lighting and an audience that Movie Rocks says has included Scarlett Johansson, Zach Braff, and Zooey Deschanel.
Movie Rocks will be included as a supplement in the December issues of 14 Conde Nast magazines, including Conde Nast Traveler.
