I pass the torch

AirportI'm at Rio de Janeiro's international airport awaiting a flight to Chicago and then to Beijing, where I'll be covering the Olympic Games.

This will be last my last blog entry here for a while. Starting this week, McClatchy correspondent Tyler Bridges will be blogging in this space. As he's based in Venezuela, you'll likely be hearing more about Chavez, Uribe and FARC doings than you've heard from me.

I'll be back in Brazil in September so I'll pop in again then.

So I hereby hand over the Inside South America torch I've carried so proudly to Tyler. And not even those pro-Tibet activists can stop me.
