Obama ad: McCain ‘out of ideas’

Barack Obama released a new ad Tuesday ahead of his presidential debate with John McCain accusing the Arizona senator of using “smears” to drive campaign dialog away from the economy.

“He’s out of ideas. Out of touch. And running out of time. But with no plan to lift our economy up, John McCain wants to tear Barack Obama down,” the narrator says.

“Why? McCain’s own campaign admits that if the election is about the economy, he’s going to lose,” the ad continues. “But as Americans lose their jobs, homes and savings, it’s time for a president who’ll change the economy.”

McCain released his own ad Tuesday calling Obama “hypocritical” for denouncing the Arizona’s senator’s ads.

The ad focuses on reports that Obama asked Missouri law enforcement to crack down on misleading ads.

“How hypocritical,” the narrator says, pointing to attacks launched at McCain. “Obama's Social Security attack was called ‘a falsehood.’ His health care attack ... ‘misleading.’ Obama's stem cell attack ... ‘not true.’”

“Barack Obama. He promised better. He lied.”
