John McCain said Sunday his chances were good, saying the campaign had polls showing the McCain-Palin ticket just 3 or 4 points behind.
“Those polls have consistently shown me much further behind then we actually are. It all depends on the voter turnout model,” McCain said on "Meet The Press." He disputed an NBC/Mason-Dixon poll showing him 11 points behind rival Barack Obama. “You are going to be up very, very late on Election Night," he predicted. "We are very competitive in the battleground states.”
Daily tracking polls have recently showed McCain 7 or 8 points behind.
“We have polls including a Zogby poll showing us 3 or 4 points behind,” he said. “Two weeks from now, you will see this has been a very close race and we have won it."
