McCain camp upbeat, at ease

As McCain makes his final election day stops in Colorado and New Mexico, his campaign has set up shop at the well-appointed Phoenix Biltmore, site of tonight's party.

With desert temperatures in the 70s, there are worse places to nervously await election results.

But McCain staffers aren't all that nervous.

Whether it's a sense of 'what will be, will be,' relief that a long, arduous campaign is at an end or both, aides are relaxed and showing no signs of worry.

Some are in a war room set up at the resort and many others are lounging under palm trees and slow-moving fans on the Biltmore's terrace, alongside the makeshift stage and riser where McCain will speak tonight, thumbing BlackBerries, sipping beers and cokes and just waiting.

Polls close in most parts of Indiana in an hour.
