In need of greener pastures
"We assumed she was driving to St. Paul with a goat in her trunk."
Not something you hear everyday, but that's how one Minnesota mechanic explained his odd day at the office. A woman brought her car in for a bad belt, but when mechanics opened the trunk they found a live goat ...tied up ... spray painted Minnesota Vikings purple and gold ... with a "4" (Brett Favre's number) shaved into his wool. The woman said she was heading to have the goat slaughtered, but now she's being hit with animal cruelty misdemeanors.
But there's good news for Brett the goat. Animal Control found a great new home for him on a 110-acre farm where he can roam freely and grow out his spray-painted highlights. Even better news? His new owner is a Favre fan.
In other decorated-animal news (but this time, far less abusive), MSNBC made a slideshow of poodles who have been sheered, shorn, painted and posed as, well, everything: Captain Jack Sparrow, a dragon and, our personal favorite, a panda bear.
Family fued
In-laws can be notoriously hard to get along with, but you know there's a bigger problem when the law gets involved. Comedian Sunda Croonquist found herself slapped with a lawsuit over her jokes ... by her mother-in-law. The black comedian has made jokes about her Jewish in-laws for years and thought the suit was a joke. What's not so funny is that her husband, a lawyer, is having his firm represent his wife ... against his mother. Oy. Croonquist said on the "Today Show" that she's been asked to step out of family photos and that she's very concerned about her children not knowing their grandmother. She made a plea to her mother-in-law: "Ruth, it's just not that serious. Call me -- I need a new recipe!"
The family that arrests together
Twin sisters often choose similar career paths: The Olsen twins like baggy clothes and big sunglasses, the Doublemint twins like the same gum. But finding sisters who like to hunt down criminals while wearing pink lipstick (and driving a pink Humvee) is something special indeed. Lisa and Theresa Gold are former cops who run Lipstick Bail Bonds. One fugitive who was tracked down by the pair said of his capture: "It's embarrassing, but they did good." Watch the sisters (and their pink handcuffs) in action below:
