iPhone 6 mania is in full swing, but Samsung is ready to start its own Galaxy craze. The Korean company today announced that its metal Galaxy Alpha smartphone will be available starting Sept. 26, exclusively through AT&T. You can get it for $200 down on a two-year agreement, or between $25 and $30 a month on the carrier's installment program.

Instead of a cheap-looking plastic frame that's on most Galaxy devices, the Alpha comes in a sturdy metal frame that's reminiscent of an iPhone. In fact, almost everything about this phone takes on Apple's latest flagship. Other than the metal body, the Alpha carries a 4.7-inch, 720p display that's the same size and almost the same resolution as the iPhone 6.

The Alpha also packs a fingerprint reader on its home button, same as the one on the Galaxy S5.While it looks like the Galaxy S5 in metal clothing, the Alpha actually carries somewhat poorer specs than its powerful brother. It doesn't have the same water resistance as the S5 does, and its camera is a lower-res 12-megapixel sharp (Galaxy S5: 16-MP).

Running Android 4.4 KitKat on a quad-core Exynos 5430 CPU, the Alpha also comes with a set of Samsung software such as the S Health app, Multi Window tool and a host of camera features.

At $25 a month on AT&T's Next 18 package, the Alpha is slightly cheaper than the iPhone 6, and could be a serious option for smartphone shoppers looking for a full-featured device in a handsome frame.
