Samsung is getting ready to release its most gigantic phone ever

So, did you think Samsung’s Galaxy Note and Galaxy Mega lines of smartphones were big? You haven’t seen anything yet. SamMobile has spotted a new filing with the Federal Communications Commission showing that Samsung is planning to release a 7-inch — yes, a 7-inch — smartphone this year.

The device, which is referred to as SM-T2558 in the FCC’s filing, is certainly not the most high-end phone around since its display will only have a 720p resolution and its other specs include a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. SamMobile speculates that this might be Samsung’s sequel to the Galaxy Mega that it released last year that featured a massive 6.3-inch display.

As you can see from the picture posted below, the FCC lists the device as a mobile phone and not a tablet and its design is much closer to that of a Galaxy Note than it is to one of Samsung’s many tablets.

We have no idea when this monstrous beast will actually release but chances are that it’s coming out soon since Samsung phones don’t normally pass through the FCC unless they’re close to being ready to launch.
