Samsung Is About to Speed Up Online Shopping in a Big Way
When you think about it, you really don't save that much time using your phone to pay for things at stores compared to whipping out your credit or debit card. But come early 2017, Samsung Pay could make shopping online and within apps much less of a hassle.

According to a press release, Samsung has teamed up with MasterCard to let Samsung Pay users take advantage of its express checkout technology, which means you won't have to fill out those annoying online forms. And you won't have to remember a password for multiple retailers or services, either.

With the express checkout feature, customers will be able to use their MasterCard debit or credit cards to quickly complete online transactions, and you'll never have to fill out shipping info, because it's stored in your Samsung Pay account. You'll be able to make purchases from your PC, tablet or smartphone while shopping on websites or apps that support the new feature.
However, Apple Pay already offers a similar online and in-app checkout feature, and it works with multiple credit and debit card providers, including Visa and American Express. Plus, Apple reportedly plans to add an Apple Pay button to its new MacBook.
The good news is that Samsung isn't relying solely on MasterCard. Starting in November, you'll be able to use Samsung Pay as your payment option with select merchant apps, regardless of which debit or credit card you have on file with Samsung. Participating stores include Velocity, Raise, Fancy, Hello Vino, Wish and Touch of Modern.
Samsung also promises that the transactions will be secure, saying that a unique token is used in encrypted form, as opposed to your debit or credit card number.
Other Samsung Pay perks are coming online as well. Starting in November, a new Deals feature within the Samsung Pay app will surface discounts from nearby stores that you can redeem.
