    The party, hosted by The New Children’s Museum, marks the start of the two-month “Howe” Healthy is Your Heart Drawing Contest

    San Diego plumbing, heating, air conditioning, restoration and flood services company, the Bill Howe Family of Companies, has teamed up with the American Heart Association for the 2nd Annual “Howe” Healthy is Your Heart Drawing Contest. This year they are launching the contest with the Healthy Heart Drawing Contest Kickoff Party hosted by The New Children’s Museum downtown on Sunday, January 29th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

    During the event, guests can enter the “Howe” Healthy is Your Heart Drawing Contest by drawing their image of a healthy heart and have the chance to win great prizes. Children and their families will also be able to chat with doctors to learn healthy habits at home, take a turn at the prize wheel, and enjoy a day at The New Children’s Museum. Free tickets are limited and available on a first-come first-serve basis at http://www.billhowe.com/kick-off-party.

    “It’s our second year of teaming up with the American Heart Association to help them increase awareness of child obesity and encourage healthy habits at home. We really wanted to launch this year’s contest with a bang and the Kickoff Party at The New Children’s Museum is going to be the perfect way to help us spread the word,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of the Bill Howe Family of Companies. “After all, healthy hearts and healthy pipes make happy homes!”

    The “Howe” Healthy is Your Heart Drawing Contest runs from February 1st to March 30th and contestants have the chance to win one of the following prizes: (1) Grand Prize: a $300 gift card to Toys “R” Us® and tickets for the winner and his/her parents to the American Heart Association’s Heart Beach Ball at the Hotel del Coronado where the winner will be recognized and his/her drawing will be highlighted throughout the event; (2) Runners-up: three runners-up will each receive a $100 gift card to Toys “R” Us®. Additionally, every participant will receive the “Heart Health at Home” guide filled with fun ways to stay active and healthy at home.

    “Obesity is a major health problem in the country, unfortunately one out of five children is obese,” said Dr. David Ostrander, Ambassador for the American Heart Association. “This contest and the Kickoff Party are great ways of creating awareness for kids and their families. On behalf of the American Heart Association, we’re excited to have a local company share our passion for this issue and help reach our goal of reducing child obesity throughout San Diego County.”
