Ma’Velous Wine and Coffee Bar is the new Market Street café that serves artisan coffees from some of the greatest roasteries in the world, brewed with the guest’s choice of six different brewing methods.

An assortment of conventional to exquisitely customized equipment allows guests those options. Ma’Velous’s equipment includes their custom-built, one-of-a-kind espresso machine, a Hario V60 coffee drip, a Chemex coffee maker, a French press, a Siphon coffee brewing machine, and a Kyoto cold slow drip coffee maker. The last two precision coffee-making apparatus were imported from Japan.
“The options allow coffee aficionados to taste the full complexity of each coffee: its natural sweet, fruity, acidic or buttery finish without cream or sugar,” said Ma’Velous founder Phillip Ma. “There is no bitterness here. Ma’Velous believes that the quality of the coffee is the only thing that gives the coffee its excellent taste.”
Ma’Velous is the only café on the West Coast that offers this selection of great international roasteries including the award-winning Chicago coffee company Intelligentsia; San Francisco’s own Ecco Caffe, known for its artisan world coffee; and, sometimes, even the famed Norwegian micro-roastery Tim Wendelboe.
Ma’Velous commissioned Espressoparts to build their custom La Marzocco machine—a precision espresso machine that can do more than any other espresso machine on the market. Ma’Velous’s baristas have at their fingertips pre-infusion, pressure and temperature profiling that allows them to brew at different settings on each of the four group heads on the fly, independently from one another.
The wine and coffee bar also offers live music and great San Francisco happy hour specials.
