‘Saturday Night Live’ With Host Dwayne Johnson Slips To Season Low

This is somewhat of a surprise. With one of its most popular hosts, Dwayne Johnson, NBC’s Saturday Night Live, dipped in the ratings to hit a season low in households. The show, hosted by Johnson with musical guest George Ezra, averaged a 3.7 household rating in Nielsen’s metered markets and a 1.9 in adults 18-49 in the markets with Local People Meters. That was down from SNL‘s most recent original (4.0 household rating, 2.0 in 18-49) on March 7 hosted by Chris Hemsworth with musical guest Zac Brown Band. It also was SNL‘s lowest result this season in households and second lowest in 18-49, behind the Bill Hader/Hozier show on October 11.

Multiple factors likely played a role in the ratings dip, including the weaker NBC primetime last night anchored by coverage of the World Figure Skating Championships, the overall viewership depression as spring gets into gear and the 3-week break between the last 2 SNL originals.
