SBA offers disaster aid to W.Va. storm victims

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering disaster assistance to businesses, homeowners and renters affected by recent severe weather in southern West Virginia.

U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin says the SBA will provide low-interest loans to repair or replace property damaged or destroyed by flooding on March 15.

The loans will help homeowners, renters and businesses replace damaged property and belongings in Logan County, while economic injury disaster loans also are available for small businesses and most private nonprofits in Boone, Lincoln, Mingo and Wyoming counties.

The application deadline is May 21 for physical property damage loans and Dec. 24 for economic injury applications.
