Democratic Headquarters, on Pearl Street in downtown Boulder, is a hive of activity. Volunteers continue to make calls, urging voters to come out. Other volunteers, mainly young people, arrive to pick up canvassing packets. The atmosphere is one of nervous excitement, as one might expect. Boulder has a reputation as one of the more liberal cities in Colorado and generating voter turnout here--particularly on CU campus--is a major key to winning the state for President Obama. That's why he came here three times in 2012.
