Currently in theaters in "The Rover" alongside Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson, Scoot McNairy will have a role in DC Comics' upcoming superhero film.
McNairy joins Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, who will play the parts of Batman and Superman respectively.
The 44-year-old American actor already knows Ben Affleck, as he played a part in Affleck's "Argo." More recently, he was in "12 Years a Slave" and the TV series "Halt and Catch Fire."
It is unknown what character McNairy might play. As a reminder, Jason Momoa ("Games of Thrones") was announced for the part of Aquaman last week but the news has not yet been officially confirmed.
The film is currently being shot and is directed by Zack Snyder, while Oscar-winning screenwriter Chris Terrio ("Argo") wrote the script along with David S. Goyer and Snyder.
Many Hollywood stars have already been announced as part of the cast, including Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons.
The film is set to open on May 6, 2016.
