GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) — Scotland winger Sean Maitland will take no further part in the Six Nations after his right leg injury against Ireland on Sunday was worse than expected.

Maitland limped off in the first half at Lansdowne Road with ankle damage and concussion.

The New Zealand-born British Lion was examined at Spire Murrayfield Hospital, and Scotland team doctor James Robson said on Wednesday the soft tissue damage to his ankle and knee will sideline him for up to eight weeks.

Maitland doesn't need surgery, Robson added.
