Sebastian Stan Talks Ant-Man Post-Credits Scene
The post-credits scene in ‘Ant-Man’ proved that Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier, is once again going to feature prominently in Marvel’s future efforts.
But we’re still not sure in what capacity. In ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ Barnes was Steve Rogers’ closest ally. But by ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ their relationship had deteriorated to such an extent that the old pals were trying to kill each other.
The ‘Ant-Man’ post-credits scene showed the duo together again. But have they reacquainted as bosom buds? Or are they still mortal enemies? Warning: If you’ve not seen ‘Ant-Man’ yet, you probably shouldn’t read ahead.
So, right at the end of ‘Ant-Man’, after the entire credits had rolled down the screen, we saw Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson with a captured Bucky Barnes in a contraption.

They were discussing how to proceed with their possible interrogation of the character, but rather than calling Iron Man, Wilson instead told Rogers to call Ant-Man.
Previously, at the end of ‘Winter Solider’, we’d seen Bucky Barnes contemplating his future after a visit to the Captain America museum. So, is he now a goody or baddy?
According to Sebastian Stan, who portrays Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, he thinks he’ll end up being a bad guy. Stan explained to BuzzFeed, “I think [what Bucky was trapped inside was] more of a vise. But it would never happen at his own hand, by his own doing.”
Stan then added, “In terms of that scene in ‘Ant-Man’, I’ve seen some of the ideas people have about it and I would say that whatever you’re seeing on the surface, it’s not as obvious as that. There might be a whole lot more to the scene. I would say someone would probably want to put him in a vise.”
The end of ‘Ant-Man’ gave us our first proper glimpse at ‘Captain America: Civil War’. And even though it was just a brief peek into how the hugely anticipated blockbuster will proceed, it was still great to get an impression of the tension, history, and conflict that will be on show.
And this was just when Falcon, Captain America, and The Winter Soldier were together. Imagine what it will be like when pretty much the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are on screen too!
We’ve now got just under 10 months to wait to see everyone lining up for ‘Captain America: Civil War’, as it is due out on May 6, 2016. And quite a few people are rather excited about it.
