Second Live Action video attacks Planned Parenthood for female ‘gendercide’

On the same day as the House vote on the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act (PRENDA) — a bill that would ban doctors from performing abortions on the basis of a child’s sex or race — Live Action released their second video in a series claiming America’s abortion providers are complicit in female “gendercide.”

The pro-life group’s Thursday video targeted the Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood clinic in New York City.

In the video, the Planned Parenthood social worker, Randi Coun, offers the Live Action actor advice on how to determine the sex of the child early and how late she could get an abortion, should she decide to abort if the child is a girl.

“I can tell you, here at Planned Parenthood we believe it’s not up to us to decide what is a good or bad reason for somebody to decide to terminate a pregnancy,” Coun tells the actor.

Live Action asserts this is evidence that “Planned Parenthood condones the sex-selective abortion of a baby girl.”

The organizations first video released Tuesday, out of Austin Texas, showed a staffer advising a woman on how to obtain a sex-selective abortion. According to Planned Parenthood, that staffer was fired because she did not follow Planned Parenthood protocol.

The group also condemned sex-selective abortions.

“Gender bias is contrary to everything our organization works for daily in communities across the country. Planned Parenthood opposes racism and sexism in all forms, and we work to advance equity and human rights in the delivery of health care,” Leslie Kantor, a vice president for education at Planned Parenthood said in a statement. “Planned Parenthood condemns sex selection motivated by gender bias, and urges leaders to challenge the underlying conditions that lead to these beliefs and practices, including addressing the social, legal, economic, and political conditions that promote gender bias and lead some to value one gender over the other.”

Planned Parenthood opposes PRENDA on the basis that the group believes it will restrict women’s access to abortion services.

“Planned Parenthood strongly condemns any coercive reproductive policies,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood. “This legislation will impose harmful restrictions on a woman’s access to care and limit her choices as she makes personal medical decisions. Furthermore, it would intrude on the critical nature of the doctor/patient relationship and interfere with a doctor’s ability to provide nonjudgmental, high-quality care for women.”

The Daily Caller has contacted Planned Parenthood for comment and will update the story once they provide a statement.
