See The Humble Home Where Bernie Sanders Grew Up
On Wednesday, hours after beating Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, Bernie Sanders was in New York breaking bread with Al Sharpton at Sylvia’s in Harlem.
Sharpton posted about the encounter on Facebook.

Sanders, who became the first person of Jewish faith to win a primary, referenced his humble roots in his victory address on Tuesday night.
“My mom and dad, brother and I grew up in a small three-and-a-half room rent controlled apartment in Brooklyn, New York,” he told supporters.
INSIDE EDITION went to the apartment on East 26th Street in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn with his parents and his brother. The 74-year-old might not recognize it today as it is undergoing a major renovation.
It is a six-story, beige-brick building with 89 units. His family lived in apartment 2C and he shared a room with his brother, Larry.
Sanders lived in Brooklyn from 1941 to 1960 before he moved to Chicago and attended University of Chicago.

The neighborhood was predominantly Jewish when the Sanders family lived there. Now, it has transformed into a much more diverse location.
His humble roots have influenced his campaign.

His family’s apartment is a 40-minute subway ride from his rival Hillary Clinton’s campaign headquarters.
