Sentencing postponed for man-on-car murder

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sentencing has been postponed for a substance-abuse counselor who drove 2 miles through a Los Angeles suburb with a dying man on her windshield.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office says Wednesday's scheduled sentencing of Sherry Lynn Wilkins was put off until June.

Wilkins faces a possible prison term of 45 years to life for killing 31-year-old Phillip Moreno in Torrance in 2012.

Authorities say Wilkins, who had two previous felony convictions, had a blood-alcohol level that was nearly twice the legal limit.

She was convicted last month of second-degree murder, drunken driving and hit-and-run.
