Seven-Year-Old Girl Attempts To Get Extra Week Off School With Hilarious Forged Letter

The first day back to work following the Christmas break is difficult no matter your age.

But while most of us simply accept our fate, leaving the sofa for the first time in weeks to head sleepy-eyed to the office, this little girl has had a better idea.

Determined to extend the festive period by just one more week, Cara tried to convince her parents that her school was closed – by writing a letter.

The note, which she claimed to have found in the letterbox, was posted on social media, and has since been viewed more than two million times.

Utilising two different pen colours, the seven-year-old put the key information in black and her signature in blue.

She even gave it a princess stamp to make sure it looked official.

Reddit user locke-in-a-box posted the note with the explanation: “My daughter got the mail today (it’s Sunday), apparently they have another week off school.”

It reads: “The school compnay is taking a brake so the kids will get one more week of school off and we will need your child to sign their name here”

Many users on Reddit and Imgur – where it was posted – commended Cara’s invention.

On Reddit, 1st_thing_on_my_mind said: “The stamp really makes it legit. No stamp, I would have thought it was fake. One more week for sure.”

Her mum added: “She’s seven. With proper stationary and computer skills, years from now I’m in trouble.”

One user, CodyAndTheWhale, also admitted to trying something similar as a child: “I did something similar as a young kid, and thought I was so clever. I signed my teachers name at the bottom and everything.

“My mom read the letter, then asked me if I would do her a quick favor. She asked me to go grab the dictionary and look up the definition of ‘forgery’. I’d never felt so defeated in my life,” the said.
