Power still out for thousands around Acadiana

ACADIANA (KLFY) – Severe weather that moved through Acadiana Monday evening caused power outages that continue into Tuesday afternoon. According to the U.S. Power Outage Map, over 53,000 people were still without power statewide as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Here is a list of local reported outages, last updated at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

  • Acadia Parish – 3,009

  • Evangeline Parish – 20

  • Iberia Parish – 44

  • Jeff Davis Parish – 1,231

  • Lafayette Parish – 7,025

  • St. Landry Parish – 1,576

  • St. Martin Parish – 3,148

  • St. Mary Parish – 0

  • Vermilion Parish – 808

  • Allen Parish – 21

  • Beauregard Parish – 144

  • Calcasieu Parish – 6,525

  • Cameron Parish – 0

As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, LUS reported 1,783 customers without power.

SLEMCO said at the peak of the outage, 43,000 people were without power. They also report their outage management system is down, so if you need to report an outage, call 1-888-275-3626.

Due to the gas fire, Evangeline Gas has 1,100 customers without gas and will remain without it Tuesday morning. This affects customers in Vidrine, Ville Platte, Riddel and Pine Point.
