San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle said on Friday he is ready to return to action, and he might be in the lineup for Saturday night's game against the Phoenix Coyotes, the San Jose Mercury-News reported.
Boyle missed the past seven games after being knocked unconscious by an illegal hit in a game against the St. Louis Blues on October 15.
"The medical staff, I've got to check with them now just to make sure we're on the same page. Hopefully I'll be out there tomorrow," Boyle said Friday, according to the Mercury-News. "I'm sure at least for a little bit I'll be a little tentative. Hopefully I get rid of that. Last time this happened [December 2003], I kind of got hit early. That was probably the best thing to happen. Hopefully the first shift I get a hit or get hit. Hopefully I'll get some of that nervousness and bad energy away."
Boyle has one goal and one assist in six games this season.
