Shreveport landmark restaurant currently on fire

Shreveport Fire Department is currently battling a fire at the former George's Grill, located at 175 East Kings Highway.

Just after 2:50 p.m. Shreveport Fire Department received a call to the 100 block of East Kings Highway. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered flames coming from the rear of the building.

20 fire units were dispatched to the location and have since begun to leave.

George's Grill closed its doors in 2017 but was an iconic Shreveport landmark known for its mom-and-pop diner feel. The restaurant has stood vacant for the last six years.
