‘Significant’ clue: Surveillance video found in Illinois cop killing

A video, which had been turned in from a private residence Wednesday, could contain key details as the manhunt continues for the killers of Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz in the Chicago suburb of Fox Lake, Ill. Police said the homeowner said the video showed three people, possibly those involved in Gliniewicz’s slaying. Police would not reveal any other details.

I believe we are making some progress, some significant progress today.

The gun of Gliniewicz, 52, has been recovered, but police have declined to say where it was found, whether it had been fired or if there were fingerprints found on it. Evidence taken from the crime scene had been turned over to a crime lab. Investigators are getting an influx of significant leads and believe there is a good probability that the suspects are still in the area of the shooting.
